Last week James Swinton-Bland, Darryn Campbell & Alex Fryer had the privilege to once again represent Zebra as a Sponsor at Droidcon Berlin 2019.

The event drew 1,300 attendees over the course of three days and consisted of a range of presentations, panels, and sponsored booths – from talks on UI/UX design to enterprise application development.

It was great to speak to so many existing and prospective Zebra developers at our booth and we were able to demonstrate a selection of our Android mobile devices as well our Printing and Scanner ranges.  Seeing many familiar visitors from previous Droidcons it was nice this year to be able to demonstrate our newly released Savanna data services platform enabling enterprises to take control of their deployments with operational intelligence.  As always, we got a great deal of feedback during the event that we’ll be taking to our product development teams - so look out for some new features in the near future.

On the third and final day Zebra’s Software Architect, Darryn Campbell, had a chance to present his talk on ‘Google Data Collection on Android’. Darryn shed light on exactly what data Google collects on Android and how you can optionally disable data collection entirely with Zebra’s new Restricted-GMS mode.  Darryn drew a packed audience and it was really helpful to see the interest in Restricted-GMS mode as well as hearing some new feature requests for it… We’ll be working through that backlog over the next few months!

Following on from our success in Berlin we'll be sponsoring two more Droidcon's in 2019: London & San Francisco. You'll be able to find us in London at the Business Design Centre, Islington, on the 24th & 25th of October where we'll be represented once again by James Swinton-Bland & Darryn Campbell along with Rabeb Othmani (Bibi) - our new Global Developer Relations Manager. If you can't make it to London we'll be in San Francisco for the 25 & 26th of November at the Mission Bay Conference Center.

We're really looking forward to an exciting 2nd half of 2019 and we hope to see some of you at our upcoming events!
