We have a Windows based solution, and would like to take advantage of the integrated camera functionality of the ET50/55 within the application. Is there an SDK or API that would allow us to accomplish this?

You will need to use the standard Microsoft camera API's for WIndows 8.1 e.g. Windows 8 CameraCaptureUI Sample in C#, VB.NET, C++, JavaScript for Visual Studio 2013
