DataWedge Setting

Hi,

I found a configuration in the DataWedge Demonstration APP that when works with 2D barcode imager, it helps to read the desired bar code from a no. of bar codes that are printed close together as shown below.

However, this setting is not persistent, if I existed the DWDemo APP and trigger the scanning, this setting is gone. I tried to look for the corresponding settings from the 'DataWedge Settings' in order to configure this function in other profiles such as 'Launcher' & 'Profile0(default) but failed.

Would like to know if I can set this from 'DataWedge Settings'?

Thanks!

Hi,This feature is called

Hi,

This feature is called "picklist mode". You can enable it in the "Reader params" section of your DataWedge profile.

I recommend creating a dedicated profile for your app and configure it accordingly.

Please refer to the DataWedge documentation.

Thanks Andreas!

Would like to know the difference between 'Hardware Picklist' and 'Software Picklist' as selecting either one will also work.

Best regards

Hi,In the Decoders section of

Hi,

In the Decoders section of the DataWedge documentation you find:

Picklist - Permits selection of Picklist mode, which instructs the imager to decode only the barcode directly under the cross-hair/reticle in the viewfinder. This feature is most useful for applications in which multiple barcodes may appear in the field of view during a decode session but only one is desired for decoding.

  • Disable - Disables Picklist mode; any barcode within the field of view can be decoded.
  • Hardware Picklist - Picklist mode is enabled by sending a command to hardware.
  • Software Picklist - Picklist feature is handled in the software; no commands are sent to hardware.

Note: Performance might vary on some devices if Hardware or Software Picklist modes are set.
