This is a great document that provides a competitive update on the stengths and weaknesses of the Intermec CN3 alongside the MC70 & MC75 as of April 2008. It has analysis of file system performance, WAN, GPS and data that will help us in our sales efforts.
I'm attaching a 3Mb PDF.
If you want the original Word Doc, you can get it at:

Thank you for sharing that great document! Could you also share the http://compass.mot.com/doc/272250349/GPS_Benchmarking_4_24_2008[1].ppt with us? Currently I am not able to access it. Thank you!

I am happy to grant you permission to the GPS benchmarking presentation. When you click on the link, there should be an option to ask for permission that will be routed to me. Alternatively, you can respond to this topic with your full name and/or any Compass groups that need access.

I am in a competitive situation against the CN3.
Can you please provide me with access to the GPS Benchmarking presentation?

CN3 GPS supports Wide Area Augmentation System (WAAS) used in North America and a similar system, EGNOS, used in Europe. They turn the feature on by way of its iGPS settings. IGPS is an Intermec value-add piece that allows for further configuration of the GPS radio.
Though WAAS and EGNOS are a form of DGPS (differential GPS), they are by now way RTCM. You may read the following links for more information:
http://ruggedbits.wordpress.com/2007/10/19/waas-egnos-rtcm-rtk-and-a-sea-of-acronyms/

http://www.kowoma.de/en/gps/waas_egnos.htm
The general idea is that if you don't have WAAS enabled in your coverage area, the feature may actually reduce the fix accuracy (and is turned off by most manufacturers). Somehow I don't think WAAS is supported on Uruguay.

I found that Sirf III Star chip supports WAAS accoding to their brochure. MC70/75 does not support differential GPS? If not, does it mean that DGPS supporting needs something beyond GPS chip?
Thank you!
