We have noticed a new MAC address being used on AP300's - 00:23:68:XX:XX:XX. This is shown on the IEEE web site as being owned by Motorola Holtsville. Is anyone aware if this MAC address is going to be - or is already - in use on Mobile devices?ThanksAndy

For those with interest, the Motorola CEC - TEAM EWP phones which I have been using have the following MAC vendor prefixes: EWP 1.0 hardware = 00:20:75 EWP 1.5 hardware = 00:22:10

We're seeing 00:21:80 on our EWPs... looks like we've got quite a range, here...

Guys - thanks for bringing this issue up. Let me round up the experts in Moblie Computing and eEwlan that can speak to this to get the facts/plan straight. Rob Galvin

There is a communications plan for this change for MCD.  The communication was going to start with a TAVT webinar that was going to be held sometime in March, but now that this is a hot topic, Rob Galvin will set something up for next week.

In case you did not received the appt from the SEVT-MCD or SEVT-eWLAN email lists here is the info for the call to discuss this topic. This is an INTERNAL ONLY call

From what I understand, you will also need Fusion driver - v2.57.0.0.018r to support the new MAC address range.

Fusion 2.57 will support the new MAC address, that's true.  There will releases of other versions of Fusion to support this MAC address also.  2.55.1 16R is currently in T&V, 2.61 13R is available, 2.35 23R is already released.

Did a PMB get released for this or were we just going to wait until customers started reporting problems? I don't want to be funny but we had exactly the same problem last time we added a new MAC range, and it would be nice to think that we had learned from previous mistakes. Has provison be made for the support loop such that customers are not going to start getting radios with new MACs before they have a chance to test and deploy the BSPs / Fusion versions that are needed?

The OUI owned by Motorola EMB (00:15:70) is running out.  Infrastructure products will be the first to ship with the new OUI (00:23:68).  Followed by Mobile Computing devices.

George,Do we have any timescales for this? Last time we moved from 00:A0:F8 to 00:15:70 we had lots of issues with MAC filtering. Will there be a general annoucment of the change?
