Tips and Tricks for developing the best templates are on their way; but for now, here's a video tutorial for the SimulScan Template Builder.
Let's use the Manufacturing Label.pdf used in the Demo to show how you can create your own Template.
|Log into Template Builder @ Simulscan.Zebra.Com||Select Unstructured Targets.||Select Multi-Barcode.|
Upload a Clean, Clear Scan(pdf) or Image of your the Manufacturing Label.pdf
Auto-Crop will appear; hit ok.
*Note: This is only important in use cases where field location is important.
Select the Field Outline Icon to draw a Border around your Barcode.
After you have created a Border, a New line will appear under the Fields Column on the left hand side. You can rename the field by right clicking the field name.
In order to Identify Each Label/form, ensure that 2-3 fields are marked as used for identification (by checking the “Use Field to Identify Form"
Select Barcode Type
Check Off “Enable Character Checking” and select criteria- in the example we can select “Starts With” from the drop down menu and Type the Letter “P”.
*Note: For multi-Barcoding Templates, a minimum of 1 unique attribute must be set in order to ensure the correct barcode is selected. Without assigning at least one unique attribute, SimulScan will return any decode it sees first.
|Repeat Steps 6-10 until you have selected all the Barcodes on your label you wish to decode in your workflow. Note; There are some use cases where you may have a template with a single field.||Validate Template to ensure that “fields” and properties/setting criteria for each barcode have been successfully created, and SimulScan is able to decode your label/form as intended.|
|A Success indication will let you know your template will work, and you can view the preview to see each fields returned data.|
