Microsoft and Zebra Technologies’ strategic alliance have a long history of adding value to each other’s businesses that dates back to early versions of the Smartphone and as such, Zebra’s Microsoft-enabled portfolio is, and will continue to be, a market-leading enterprise solution. Both companies view each other as strategic partners, and remain actively engaged in building enterprise solutions for industry specific purposes.
In 2013, Zebra TEchnologies announced plans to introduce a device built on the Microsoft Windows Embedded 8 Handheld platform. The release of the enterprise level WE8H code from Microsoft is still not available. However, Microsoft and Zebra continue to collaborate on the expanding OS functionality. As always, Zebra remains focused on the success of the current Microsoft WEHH & CE products while simultaneously expanding our Android portfolio.
Zebra’s roadmaps have always been a direct reflection of our customer’s preferences, as Android and WE8H gain in popularity we will adjust our portfolio strategies accordingly. Ultimately Zebra’s overall focus is providing customers choice, and allowing customers the advantage of the best possible options for the enterprise that fit their specific needs.
As we continue to monitor the maturing capabilities of WE8H, we encourage you to consider Zebra’s existing Microsoft enabled computers as well as the rapidly evolving and industry’s largest portfolio of purpose built rugged computers based on Android.
