BUILDING CROSS PLATFORM APPLICATIONS FOR WINDOWS 32
Did you know you can use the same RhoMobile cross-platform application code you are building for mobile platforms like iOS, Android, WindowsMobile for ‘Big Windows’ as well? Why would you want to do this and what are the things you need to know? In this webinar, Rob Galvin shows you how to use RhoHub to build a Win32 application as well as how to setup your dev environment locally and build on your desktop. Maybe you have an application that is being used by the 'occasional mobile' users. Wouldn't it be nice for you write the code in one development environment and provide the same application to that user so they can use it on both the mobile device and their desktop and still have access to the same centralized data set? You may also have a need to provide an application that runs on both a Vehicle Mounted computer like the Psion 8590 running Windows XP and other mobile devices that are running iOS, Android or Windows Mobile.
RESOURCE OF THE WEEK: OVERRIDES TAB - CHROME DEVELOPER TOOLS
In the previous webinar we discussed how to use Firefox's 3D Page Visualizer with your RhoMobile application and you have all probably seen and or used the developer tools inside of Chrome, but did you ever click on that cog in the lower right hand corner? In this weeks Resource of the Week, we show you how useful the Overrides tab is for helping with quickly seeing how your application looks in many different form factors. Chrome dev tools provides a very quick way to see how your page looks specific sized displays as well as custom User Agent over rides. Jump to the Resource of the Week part of the replay.
