    Welcome

     

    Zebra AppGallery is a marketplace and tool designed to help users find, purchase, deploy and

    update apps in an enterprise way on one or many mobile devices. Developers and enterprises can

    distribute and maintain their own apps, or apps from the AppGallery marketplace, simplifying app

    distribution like never before. This document will help users better understand how to get started

    and take advantage of the AppGallery features and functionality.

    There are a few important concepts to understand when getting started. First, the AppGallery

    website (https://appgallery.zebra.com) is designed for users looking to easily find, manage, and

    distribute mobile apps to multiple devices and users. Second, there are two mobile apps, one that

    ships out of the box on Zebra mobile computers and functions like an app store (known as

    AppGallery Mobile), and one that is sent out when a website user (admin) wants to deliver apps to

    their users (known as AppGallery Enterprise). The difference in the two apps is that one (AGM)

    allows access to the broad AppGallery Marketplace while the second (AGE) is customizable and

    only allows access to the apps the admin has distributed to them.

    The website has four main categories – Showcase, Galleries, Apps, and Users.

    Showcase – This is the AppGallery marketplace. Website users can access the best

    enterprise and productivity apps in the world and simply add them to the account.

     

    Galleries – AppGallery is all about simplifying app distribution. A gallery is used as the

    vehicle for distributing one or many apps to your users. Apps are added to galleries and then

    users are “invited” to those galleries. Once a user is invited to a gallery, they are permitted

    access to all the apps that have been added to that gallery.

     

    Apps – Users can review all the apps in all their galleries. Users can quickly add, remove,

    edit, or update their own apps (or apps from the Showcase).

     

    Users – All the users that have been invited to galleries are in this section. The Administrator

    can import users or create groups of users to simplify the process of inviting large groups of

    people to galleries.

     

    Now that you have a foundational knowledge of AppGallery, let’s walk through a brief example:

    Example

    Company XYZ has a field mobility workforce that operates across country A. After a quick

    inventory, they find they have a couple apps that are used in all regions and a few that are region

    specific. Company XYZ decides to use AppGallery to deliver and maintain these apps for their

    workforce.

    Company XYZ creates a gallery for each region (Northeast, Northwest, Southeast, Southwest).

    After creating a gallery, they upload each app and then add it to the gallery or galleries desired.

    Once added, the company creates an excel file with an email address and phone number (if

    desired) of their workforce and imports the users into their AppGallery account automatically

    assigning them to the desired gallery. A notification is automatically sent out to the newly invited

    users via email and/or text.

    The users click on the link in the email or text to download and install the AppGallery app. After

    installing, they create their account and log in getting access to each gallery they were invited to.

    Moving forward, if a new version of one of the apps is made available, all users will automatically

    get access to the updated version to download and install.

    Create an account

    After creating an account, you will automatically be the Administrator for any galleries that you

    create.

    1. Go to: https://appgallery.zebra.com.

    2. Click Register .

    3. On the Sign Up window enter the information.

    4. Click Sign Up.

    You will receive an email from the AppGallery Administrator.

    5. Click on the email link

    6. Click OK.

    Login and logout

    LogIn

    1. Go to https://appgallery.zebra.com.

    2. Click Sign In.

    3. Enter the information.

    4. Click Sign In.

    Logout

    On the AppGallery landing page:

    1. Click the down arrow next to your admin name on the menu bar.

    2. On the menu, click Logout .

    Update your account profile

    Use this application to update Administrator information.

    On the AppGallery landing page:

    1. Click on your name in the menu bar.

    2. On the menu, click Edit Profile .

    3. On the Profile window, make all necessary changes to the information.

       Image (optional)

       First name

       Last name

       Username

       Mobile number (Enter exactly as shown in the example below the field.)

       Organization name

    4. When finished, click the Update button.

    Add a gallery administrator

    Use this procedure to add additional administrators to a gallery.

    On the AppGallery landing page:

    1. Click Galleries on the menu bar.

    2. Click on the gallery to which you want to add an administrator.

    3. Click (Add button).

    4. Click the Admin tab.

    5. Enter the information.

       Email

       Mobile number

       Gallery (if other than displayed)

    6. Click Invite.

    The user receives an email notifying them that they have been invited to be an Administrator.

    Remove a gallery administrator

    On the AppGallery landing page:

    Contact us

    On the AppGallery landing page:

    Click on the down 1. arrow next to your user name on the menu bar.

    2. On the menu, click Contact Us.

    3. On the mail window, select the messaging option.

    4. Create and send the email.

    About Showcase

    The Zebra AppGallery Showcase is a centralized location for best in class mobile applications.

    These apps offer functionality to help you do your job faster and easier.

    On the Showcase, you can search for apps by industry, by supported device, or by application

    name. Once you've found an application you are interested in, you can view additional information

    on the selected app including description, features, sample screens, and user ratings.

    You can download and install the app on your mobile device. After using the app, you can provide

    ratings on its use.

    If you receive a mobile device, the Showcase is already installed and ready for use.

    Search Showcase apps

    You can search for Showcase applications in several different ways.

    On the AppGallery landing page:

    Search by industry:

       Click on an Industry in the list.

    Search by device

    Do one of the following:

       Click All Devices .

       Select a device in the list.

    Search by app name

       In the Search field, enter the app name and press the Enter.

    View Showcase app information

    On the AppGallery landing page:

    1. Search showcase apps to find the app.

    2. Double click on the app you are interested in.

    The App detail page displays.

    About galleries

    Galleries are specialized sets of applications for use by a department or organization in your

    company.

    The Admin creates a gallery for each organization with similar needs and tasks to be performed

    and selects applications that support those tasks.

    A gallery can contain Showcase (AGM) apps and custom (AGE) apps.

    The administrator also can customize the Gallery on the mobile device.

    Search for galleries by name

    On the AppGallery landing page:

    1. On the menu bar click Galleries .

    2. Click on Search for Galleries .

    3. Enter the gallery name and press the Enter key.

    View gallery information

    Note: Mobile app admin settings and customization applies to all galleries in the organization.

    On the AppGallery landing page:

    1. On the menu bar click Galleries .

    2. If necessary, click on the organization name and select a different one from the list.

    The Gallery information page displays the following information:

       Number of galleries you have created

       Number of applications added to the gallery

       Number of users

       Number of administrators

       Mobile app admin settings

       Mobile app customization

    Create a gallery

    On the AppGallery landing page:

    1. On the menu bar click Galleries .

    2. Click on the Create a Gallery button.

    3. On the Add New Gallery window enter the information.

    4. Click Save.

    5. After the gallery is created, go to Specify mobile app admin settings.

    Specify mobile app admin settings

    On the AppGallery landing page:

    1. On the menu bar click Galleries .

    2. If necessary, click on the organization name and select a different one from the list.

    3. Click on the Settings button.

    4. Set the following options:

       Audio Feedback

       Haptic Feedback

       Android Notifications

       Cellular Data

       Sync Interval

       App Sorting

       Profile Edit

       Display Email

       Hide Forgot Password

    4. Click Update .

    Customize the mobile app

    Use this procedure to display an image representing the company on the mobile device.

    On the AppGallery landing page:

    1. On the menu bar click Galleries .

    2. If necessary, click on the organization name and select a different one from the list.

    3. Click on the Customize Mobile App button.

    4. On the Upload window navigate to and select an image.

    5. For each operating system (Android and iPhone/iPad):

       Select Build.

       When the build finishes, select Publish .

    Add users and groups to a gallery

    Note: The users and groups must already be created in AppGallery.

    Create a group

    Add users to a group

    On the AppGallery landing page:

    1. On the menu bar click Galleries .

    2. If necessary, click on the organization name and select a different one from the list.

    3. Click on the gallery to which the users and groups will be added.

    4. Click on the (Add button).

    5. On the Add Users or Groups window:

    6. To add a single user click the Users tab and enter the following information:

       Email address

       Mobile phone number (optional)

       Click Invite.

    7. To add a group click the Groups tab and enter the following information:

       Email address

       Click in the Select groups field and select a group

       In the Email message field, enter text to be included on the email invitation.

       In the SMS message field, enter text to be included on the IM.

       Click Invite.

    8. Repeat the above steps to add users and groups to the gallery.

    Send a follow-up invitation (Reinvite)

    On the AppGallery landing page:

    1. On the menu bar click Users.

    2. Click the Pending Invites tab.

    3. Click the Reinvite button next to the user.

    Update gallery information

    On the AppGallery landing page:

    1. On the menu bar click Galleries.

    2. If necessary, click on the organization name and select another one in the list.

    3. Double click on the gallery and click the Edit button.

    4. Make any necessary changes.

    5. When finished, click Save.

    Delete a gallery

    Notes :

       You can only delete a gallery that you created.

       You can not undo a delete.

    On the AppGallery landing page:

    1. On the menu bar click Galleries .

    2. If necessary, click on the organization name and select another one in the list.

    3. Double click on the gallery and click the Edit button.

    4. On the Edit Gallery window, click Delete Gallery .

    5. On the confirmation message, click Yes, Delete.

    About applications

    AppGallery has two types of applications: Showcase (AGM) and Custom (AGE).

    Showcase (AGM) apps are    distributed on the web and available for use by anyone.

       Custom (AGE) apps are developed specifically for your organization.

    Both types of apps are added to galleries for the mobile user to download and install. When an app

    is added, the users and group members receive an email and (optional) IM inviting them to use the

    app. Users then download and install the app on their mobile device.

    For each gallery, the Admin can specify how downloads and installs will be performed.

    Additionally, a custom app can be submitted to the Showcase for wide spread distribution and use.

    Search for custom apps by name

    On the AppGallery landing page:

    1. On the menu bar click Apps.

    2. Click on Search for Apps.

    3. Enter the app name and press the Enter key.

    View custom app information

    On the AppGallery landing page:

    1. On the menu bar click Apps.

    2. If necessary, click on the organization name and select another one in the list.

    3. Click on the app.

    The App information page displays the following information:

       Description

       Screenshots

       Features

       What's New

       Reviews

       Total number of downloads

       User Ratings

       Date Added

       Version

       Platform

       Developer contact email

       Supported devices

       Sales contact

    Add a Showcase app to a gallery

    On the Showcase landing page:

    Search for and select 1. the Showcase app you want to add to the gallery.

    2. On the app tile, click the button.

    On the Add window click the down arrow and select the gallery to which this app will be

    added.

    After an app is added to a gallery, go to Specify application admin settings to set app

    download instructions.

    Add a custom app to a gallery

    On the AppGallery landing page:

    1. On the menu bar click Apps.

    2. If necessary, click on the organization name and select another one in the list.

    3. Select Add an App button.

    4. On the Add App window, select the Add an App button.

    5. To add an existing custom app:

    a. In the Existing Apps field, enter the name of the app.

    b. Click Save.

    6. To add a new custom app:

    a. Click Add an app.

    b. Provide the information.

    c. Click Save and Add Build.

    d. Navigate to and select the build.

    e. Provide the version Information.

    f. Click Save

    g. Add optional additional information

    After an application is added to the gallery, go to Specify app admin settings to set app

    download instructions.

    On the AppGallery landing page:

    1. Click Apps.

    2. If necessary, click on the organization name and select another one in the list.

    3. Click the Settings button.

    4. Search for and select the app.

    5. On the App Settings page, specify:

       Force Install

       Updates

       Block Updates

    4. When finished, click the Update button.

    5. Repeat the above steps for other apps.

    Submit an app to the Showcase

    On the AppGallery landing page:

    1. Click Apps.

    2. Click on the application.

    3. Click Submit to Showcase .

    4. Confirm that you want to submit the app to the showcase

    5. Fill out all the required information in the review area at the bottom of the page

    6. Click Submit .

    About users and groups

    In AppGallery, each individual record contains the user email, gallery it is added to, and an optional

    phone number. The Email and phone number are used to send invitations to the user.

    Users can be added one at a time to a gallery. When adding larger user lists, a file (either

    spreadsheet or comma delineated) can be used to add users. A sample spreadsheet can be

    downloaded from the web to your desktop.

    Individual users can be combined in a group. Creating a group of users makes it more efficient to

    add the group to a gallery, as opposed to having to add each user individually.

    Search for users or groups by name

    On the AppGallery landing page:

    1. On the menu bar click Users.

    2. Click on Search for users or groups .

    3. Enter the user name or group name and press the Enter key.

    View user and group information

    On the AppGallery landing page:

    1. On the menu bar click Users.

    View all AppGallery users

       Click the All Users tab to view the user information.

    View all groups and members

    1. Click the Groups tab.

    2. Click the right arrow next to the group to expand the listing to view group information.

    View pending invites

       Click the Pending Invites tab to view invite information.

    View imported files

       Click the Imported Files tab to view user imported files..

    View search results

       Click the Search Results tab if you have performed searches. Results are listed here.

    Add users

    Note: At least one gallery must be created before users can be added to AppGallery.

    Use this procedure to add a user to AppGallery.

    The user email address and optional mobile phone number will be used to send invitations to add a

    gallery.

    If you are adding multiple users, use the Import users with a file procedure.

    On the AppGallery landing page:

    1. On the Menu bar click Users.

    2. Click the All Users tab to see user information.

    3. Click Add User.

    4. On the New Consumer window provide the information.

    5. Click Invite.

    An invitation is sent to the user's email address.

    6. When the user accepts the invite, click the All Users tab to see updated information.

    Import users with a file

    Use this procedure to import a spreadsheet or comma defined file of user information.

    You can also download a spreadsheet that you can use to enter user information.

    On the AppGallery landing page:

    1. On the Menu bar click Users.

    2. Click on the Import User button.

    3. The Import New User page displays.

    (Optional) Click Download Sample files to receive a spreadsheet you can use to enter user

    information.

    5. Browse to the file containing user information.

    Note: Valid file types are: .xlsx, .xls, .csv.

    6. Click Upload .

    7. On the New Consumer window enter the information.

    8. Click Invite.

    An invitation is sent to the user's email address.

    9. When the user accepts the invite, click the All Users tab to see updated information.

    Remove a user from a gallery

    On the AppGallery landing page:

    1. On the Menu bar click Galleries .

    2. If necessary, click on the organization name and select another one in the list.

    3. Click on the Gallery.

    4. Click on the Users tab

    5. On the All Users tab, click on the trash can next to the user to be removed.

    6. On the confirmation message, click OK.

    Delete a user from AppGallery

    Note: This procedure removes the user from all galleries and the administrators directory.

    On the AppGallery landing page:

    1. On the menu bar click Users.

    2. On the All Users tab, click on the trash can. next to the user to be deleted.

    3. On the Delete confirmation message, click OK.

    Create a group

    Note: Add Users before creating groups.

    On the AppGallery landing page:

    1. On the Menu bar click Users.

    2. Click the Groups tab to see group information.

    3. Click on the Create a Group button.

    4. On the Create a New Group window

    5. In the Group name field, enter the new group name.

    6. Click on the second field and select the users to be added to the group.

    7. Click Save.

    8. Click the Groups tab to see updated group information.

    Add users to a group

    Note: Add Users before creating groups.

    On the AppGallery landing page:

    1. On the menu bar click Users.

    2. Click the Groups tab to see group information.

    3. Double click on the group name to see users in the group.

    4. Click the Add a User button.

    5. On the Invite existing consumers window, click in the field and select the user to be added.

    6. Click Save.

    7. Click the Groups tab to see information on users in the group.

    Remove a user from a group

    On the AppGallery landing page:

    1. Click on Users.

    2. Click the Groups tab.

    3. On the Groups tab click the right arrow next to the group.

    4. On the Group Members window, select the trash can next to the user to be deleted.

    5. On the confirmation window, click OK.

    Delete a group

    Note: You cannot undo a delete group.

    On the AppGallery landing page:

    1. Click on Users.

    2. Click the Groups tab.

    3. Click on (Edit) next to the Group you want to delete.

    4. On the Edit - <Group Name> window click Delete Group.

    5. On the confirmation message, click Yes, Delete.

    Create an account on the mobile device

    On the mobile device:

    Access 1. the Create Account page by doing one of the following:

       Tap the AppGallery icon.

       Complete AppGallery installation.

    2. On the Login page, tap Need an Account?

    3. On the Join Now page, provide the information.

    8. Tap Sign up.

    Install AppGallery on a mobile device

    Note: You must create an account to access AppGallery. See Create an Account on the Mobile

    Device

    On the mobile device:

    1. Tap on the email or instant message link.

    2. Download AppGallery to the mobile device.

    Note: If you receive messages during the download, respond to them and continue.

    3. Tap on the Download Complete message to install AppGallery.

    Note: If you receive messages during the installation, respond to them and continue.

    During installation, the AppGallery icon is added to your mobile desktop.

    4. When you receive the App installed message:

       Tap Done to close the installation.

       Tap Open to go to the AppGallery Login page.

    Login and logout

    Login

    1. Tap the AppGallery icon.

    2. On the Login page, enter the information.

    3. Tap Login.

    Logout

    1. Tap in the upper left corner of the page.

    2. On the Mobile App Info menu, tap Logout .

    Accept an invitation

    On the mobile device:

    1. Tap on the invitation email or instant message link.

    2. Tap Accept Invite Here.

    3. On the Redeem Your Invitation page, enter the information.

    4. Tap Accept Invitation .

    Your account is verified.

    5. When you receive the confirmation message, tap Activate Now.

    6. Select the application and tap Install .

    Install a previously downloaded app

    On the mobile device:

    1. Login to AppGallery mobile app.

    2. Tap in the upper left corner of the AppGallery mobile page.

    3. On the Mobile App Info menu, tap Apps.

    4. Tap the app to be installed.

    5. Tap Install .

    2. On the Mobile App Info menu, tap on a topic.

    3. When finished, tap in the upper left corner to close the menu
