    barcode scanning meta tags

        In Rhoelements 1.0.0.10 the scanner sometimes remains disabled on the first page loaded.  I tried moving the scanner meta tags to the top of the page, before all other tags, but that seemed to make the problem worse.

          After looking at it some more Removing the Signal indicator resolves this problem.

            Hi,

            We currently have an issue which sounds very similar, whereby the license screen will interfere with the scanner if it is enabled on the first page.  This issue is currently being resolved but licensing your device should also resolve the issue.

            Also - using the meta tags is one option to integrate with the barcode scanning libraries. Another option is to use the corresponding javascript methods and properties. Not only will this give you greater control over when specifically you want to have the scanner enabled or disabled. To use the javascript method to enable the scanner you would do scanner.enable();

            Check the help file that was included with the install for more details. It also has some code examples.

              There is a timing issue with the 1.0.0.10 build. If the scanner is attempted to be enabled too son on unlicensed devices (i.e. the nag screen comes up while the scanner is attempted to be enabled, then it will not work. This has been fixed for the next release (Due out week of Oct 10th). In the meantime you can put a delay in the start up or turn the scanner on later.
