    MC65 RHOELEMENT PHONE SUPPORT

This is a pre-sales & roadmap questions about RhoElements.

Would RhoElements features be able to block a phone application when HTML application is running ?

Customer does not want any user to answer a phone when a business application is running on a MC65 WM6.5.3 or in near future on ET1 Android

-Can we use Javascript (Motorola extensions) to shutdown a Phone process ?

      or

-Can we use Javascript to block the answer button and keep RhoElement in front ?

      Or

-Can we write a plugin controlled by RhoElements to do so (do WM6.5 or Android allow to block phone application? Remark: on MC65 WM6.5 we have a custom dial pad and menu, thus we guess there should be ways to prevent that application from starting when an incoming call arrives)

The customer wants to know also our responses in regards to our upcoming Motorola Android ET1

      Thanks

It is possible to write a plugin to extend RhoElements. The plugin is based on the NPAPI standard.

A couple of points before attempting this.

The ET1 is easy. It's does not contain a phone application or GSM module. Shutting down the Phone Application is not recommend on windows mobile device. The Phone Application takes care of additional functionality (Depending on device, updating the signal level in the registry for state notifications for example)

One recommendation I can give. if you use TAPI within your plugin. you could for example.

          Automatically hangup incomming calls.

Turn the GSM Radio off / on, whenever you like.

Using the API call AllKeys(TRUE) will block any hotkeys therefore stopping the Phone Application coming to the front.

          Hope this Helps.

          Gary.

            Pavol,

You can use AppCenter to block the Phone application for incoming/outgoing calls whilst allowing RhoElements to run.
