Java in IE in Windows Mobile 5.0

    Pablo Moriconi

A customer ask me about installing java in MC9090 WM5.0. He has a web application that need java to work.

How can I do to install Java in this device so the IE could show the webpage correctly?

      From support.symbol.com I see that I need CrE-ME412[1].22_ARM_CE42_PPC.exe for Windows Mobile 5.0 (http://support.symbol.com/support/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=12967&sliceId=&dialogID=333024372&stateId=1%200%20333020158).

Is there another way to run web pages with java in MC9090 WM5?

The bottom line is that for java to run on any platform, you must have a java virtual machine installed on that platform.  The exe you refer to is an implementation of the JVM for Windows Mobile.  There may be some other choices, such as IBM's old J9.  However, I would suggest going with what the support ticket recommends.  Again, with any platform, even desktop operating systems, you need to install a JVM in order to run java.
