802.1x + WEP

Hi Team,

For above setting, I have following quesitons

1. the WEP key is piggybacked at EAP-Success message to AP as well as MU?

2. WEP key is "dynamically set per user per session (EAP authentication session) ?"

3. is there industrial standard to this protocol?

4. interoperability of APs MUs supporting this

5. our WS2K and Mobile Companions support this "dynamic key"?

Thanks!

Hi Jin, 1. The key is not

Hi Jin,

1. The key is not sent as part of EAP-Success, but sent separately as MPPE-Recv-key message to the AP. The MU derives it independently as part of the TLS handshake.

2. That's correct.

3.  802.1x is the standard. The devices should support using it with WEP.

I am not sure about 4 & 5.

regards,

Sukhdeep
