RhoElements V2: Barcode scanning using the camera on an Android device. Javascript only?

I have some questions regarding bar code scanning on non-Motorola devices using the camera.

      • I'd like to use the Javascript API only, if possible, but it seems that the "scanner" object is undefined when the application starts. This is running on an Android emulator. Is this scenario even possible?
      • What is the basic process for using the phone camera to read bar codes? Do you actually use the 'scanner' object or do you need take a picture with the camera and pass it to the bar code library?
      • Do you need an active RhoElements license to test the bar code scanning or should the scanning still work after cancelling out of the license screen on the device?
