Status of VoCollect application on WT4090

New Information.  Vocollect announces support for Motorola MC9090 and WT4000.

Please see http://www.vocollect.com/global/web.php/en/pr/vocollec_voice_on_motorola_mc9090_and_wt4000_wearable_device_series_achieve

This announcement relates to their receiving our Solution Center validation (with some "notes" in the report).  It does not mean that they have officially released the VVH (Vocollect Voice for Handhelds) client yet for either the MC9090 or WT4090.  Their release is expected in the July-August timeframe.

Hi... Have we had a status

Hi...

Have we had a status update on this in the past few weeks? Availability (or not) of a Vocollect client for the WT4090 is putting the kybosh on sales of about 300 initial units here in Australia into legacy-Vocollect shops.

(trust me, we've tried to move them to something else!)

Can we put a line in the ground as to when we can expect this to be available? Q2? Q3?

Thanks in advance,
-JP

The latest information is

The latest information is that we can start Field Trials with VoCollect on the WT4090 in mid July of this year.  In preparation for that, we need to recruit and select the candidate sites.  VoCollect is willing to support ~1-3 sites.  Please post here if you think you have a customer who will be a good site.  I will probably have to distribute a questionnaire to narrow the field if we have more than 3 replies here. So please, for now, just reply with customer name, account team names (AM & SE), any partners involved, industry the customer is in (e.g. is it a food warehouse or stationary or ...?).
Thanks.

Juliet,Pepsi Americas

Juliet,

Pepsi Americas (Chicago) is a candidate.  They are currently doing a pilot with Vocollect T2+ units and need a multi-mode device that can be used for taking inventory or doing restocking in the morning and then for voice picking in the afternoon/evening.  Dematic (formerly Siemens) is the integrator providing the Vocollect pilot solution and they are interested in working with us on the WT4090 at Pepsi.

The voice picking system they are piloting today is a hybred that uses voice to direct the user to the pick location and a combination of voice and barcode scanning to confirm the pick.

Amy Allison is the AM.

Thanks,
Ken

Juliet... In Australia we

Juliet...

In Australia we have Metcash (a major grocery distributor/T2 Retailer) who are ready to place an order for 100 units today if we can give them a solution, with another 7-8 DCs that would drop subsequently.

They are already using Talkman T2s, but have been hassling us since last December for this solution. The account team is Rob D'amico (AM) and Matthew Wardle (SE).

To add variety (and compete with Ken...      ) we also have Coca Cola Amatil also in Australia which could easily go to a couple hundred units. Also currently using Talkmans via Swisslog, They've also been at us for this since we first showed them the old 4070. The account team is Rob D'amico and myself.

Finally, Woolworths in Australia (T1 grocery) is another potential, but this is the least urgent of the three we have. Same account team as Metcash.

Thanks in advance,
-JP

David: For both WT4090 and

David:
For both WT4090 and MC9090, VVH release from Vocollect is ~ in July at this point.  I have never heard them talk about releasing VVH on MC3090 so I don't think that is planned.  Voxware is going great guns with the MC3090, however.
