-20C... for how long?

Hey team...

In the dessicant equipped MC9000, what is the maximum time we will stand by the operating temp at it's lowest? For example, we provide a profile for the heated boot... do we have an equivalent for the device itself?

Can the MC9000 be used for a solid 8 hour shift in a -20 C freezer?

Cheers,
-JP

Hi Jon,Our partner conducted

Hi Jon,

Our partner conducted a test for a big customer for three scenarios:

1. Full-charged unit is placed into -30C freezer for one hour.
After that perform 60 scans and text inputs with hardware keypad and SIP - everything at -30C. Check the battery level and decoding/text input speed.

2. Unit is turned on and left on the room temperature for 20 min, the it's place into the -30C freezer for 2 hours. After that perform 60 scans and text inputs with hardware keypad and SIP - everything at -30C. Check battery level and decoding/text input speed.

3. Full charged unit is put into -30C freezer for 8 hours. During this period each hour perform 60 scans and text inputs with hardware keypad and SIP - everything to be done at -30C. Monitor battery level and decoding/text input speed.

They tested two units - with mono and color screen, both with SE1224 laser engine. The conclusion was:
1. The lowest temperature level for the color unit to stay usable is -25C. The mono display is dead at this temperature.
2. No issues with barcode scanning
3. Battery discharge on scenario 3 at -25C is ~10% per hour.

I have a scan of the official paper from the customer on the above results - obviously in Russian.

Regards,
Valery
