John, thanks for centralizing

John, thanks for centralizing everything in one place.

The download page says:
"If not present, Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 loaded at time of initial 123Scan2 installation".
Yet, quite large size of the download
https://docs.symbol.com/downloads/123Scan2%20v%201.01.0006.exe
(275MB) made me do some monitoring.

When launching, the .exe installer creates a folder in %TEMP% with
  • Motorola 123Scan2.msi (MSI package, 39M)
  • Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1(May exceed 30 minutes).prq (XML file, 2KB)
  • MSXML 6.0 SP1.prq (XML file, 1KB)

(and some more minor MSInstaller ini files total ~2MB) and another folder for setup which is again around 2MB.

I have both prerequisites installed, I believe that's why I got 43MB unpacked install folders from 275M installer (It seems that .NET and MSXML are still packaged within).

Is it intended? And, if yes, will there be a .NET/MSXML-free version?
