How to query for Power Micro version

All,

I have an MC75 customer that needs to update their Power Micro code for the wet connector problem (SPR 17392).  Is there a way we can programatically query the unit for its PM version?  We need to report the version number back through Afaria.

Thanks,
Ken

MC75 API to read the Power Micro version:eCRT - CIC Forums

From George's Post:

"Here is a code snippet for something I wrote quite a while ago.  I didn't have an MC70 WM6.1 terminal to test it on, but I did test on an MC75A WM6.5 and it works.  So, it should work on the MC70 as well.  THERE ARE NO GUARANTEES THAT THIS CODE WILL CONTINUE TO WORK IN THE FUTURE.  I recommend that the customer implement this code for the short term only and remove it when the UpdateLoader problem is rectified."

Do we have any C wizards that would be willing to compile this code into an EXE that will dump the PM version to a REG key?

Where would you like the info dumped?  Any particular place?

Dave, Thanks for stepping

Dave,

Thanks for stepping up to take care of this.  Why don't we keep it compliant with MSP.  My customer is already using Symscript to pull REG values and move them over to where Afaria needs them.  They can do the same with this one.  Here's where I would recommend:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MSP\Attributes\PowerMicroVersion

Thanks,

Ken

I don't know who Maverick is,

I don't know who Maverick is, but that code snippet was posted to the INTERNAL CIC forum for a specific use.  There is no guarantees that this code is portable to all applications and the posting to this more generic forum is unacceptable.

The disclaimer on the original post still holds and I'll expand to say that there is no implied support or guarantee.
