Hi Team,
Does anyone have an experience to connect ES400 to GPRS APN
with PAP/CHAP authentication ?
I tried to configure the connection (APN, username, password)
and set "SetGPRSAuthentication" registry in "HKLM\Software\Microsoft\RIL"
to "1"(PAP) / "2"(CHAP) / "3"(PAP/CHAP), but it couldn't connect.
I checked same configuration with MC75A6, it could connect successfully.
Any idea ?
Thanks,
Kubo

I assume the issue is that one cannot select either PAP or CHAP to be used, am I right?
If so, the obvious question is: which PPP protocol is ES400 using by default, PAP or CHAP?
I tested with MOVISTAR in Spain, which uses both PAP and CHAP, so it successfully connected.
But other providers allow just one protocol.
Imagine being doing a demo at a customer which happens to have chosen the "wrong" provider :( :( :(. I would be good knowing in advance if we had a chance or not :).
Thanks!

The rev A OS for ES400 will not support PAP/CHAP, also devices leaving manufacturing and the rev A OS installed on them will not support PAP - CHAP.
As soon as the OS image is considered rev A there will be a seperate PAP/CHAP OS compiled and it will be made available to TA community ( and partners ).

ES400 and MC65 Rev "A" do not support PAP/CHAP. Rev "A1" due out late this year will, as well as a special web-only image we will post soon.
