Has anyone been successful pairing and connecting an RS507 to the ET1? I can get the two paired but not connected, and it always tries to use a pairing passkey 063930.
I see in the ET1 PRG and IG that it can pair with the CS3070 ... but what about the RS507? How about our other BT scanners as well?

1. Change the RS507 BT profile to HID or SPP.
2. Disable authentication on RS507
3. Disable authentication on ET1.
4. Retry to pair the devices.

you need the latest fw for the RS507 that supports HID and works with iPad and other non-Moto devices.
Setting the RS507 to HID will make it works.

one advantage when RS507 paired with ET1 is that the ET1 Soft Input Panel is still available , not the case when paired with Ipad for example .

1) upgrade the RS507 to 4090c50CB0RS507.CAB
2) Cold start the RS507 (Hold the scan key and install the battery)
3) Scan the Set Factory Defaults barcode in the RS507 Reference manual
4) Scan the HID barcode in the RS507 Reference manual
5) Attempt to pair-----failed with the paired but not connected message described below,
5) Cold start the RS507 (Hold the scan key and install the battery)
6) Attempt to pair---I noticed it changed the pass key and this time it paired
I still have some bad behavior if I cold boot the RS507 after it is paired, but I found that I could correct that by rebooting the ET1
I'll do some additional testing and advise

Thanks for the correction..I actually did update it with the current DAT file...(I installed the CAB file to support the RS507 on the WT4070) but I am still having trouble "reconnecting" after I reboot the RS 507...If I reboot the ET1 and the RS507 it automatically recovers...
When it gets into the failure mode I can check the status on the ET1...if I tap the device showing Paired but not connected I get a message "Please press any key of your bluetooth keyboard to reconnect to the tablet" the only thing I can do is scan a barcode...but that does not make the RS507 connect
any ideas???

1) upgrade the scanner PAAACS00-005-R00D0.DAT
2) Reset the RS507 to factory defaults
3) Configure RS507 for HID
4) On the ET1 enable the BT interface
5) On the ET1 discover the available devices
6) Pair the RS507 with the ET1 (I had to do this 2x to be successful)
Following a battery change
1) Insert the battery and wait for the red lamp on the back and 3 chirps
2) Hold the restore button on the right side of the scanner for 10 seconds
3) Wait while the scan raster lights up followed by a beep
4) Go ahead and scan
Below is a summary of the available boot processes..these might be helpful during the pairing process
Cold Boot
Cold Boot restores the RS507 operation by resetting its software. To perform a cold boot, remove and re-insert the
battery onto the RS507.
Clean Boot
Clean Boot restores the RS507 to its factory default configuration.
To perform Clean Boot:
1.
Remove the battery from the RS507.
2.
Press and hold the Restore Key.
3.
Insert the Battery onto the RS507.
4.
Keep holding the Restore Key pressed for about five seconds until a chirp is heard and the Scan LEDs flash
green. The RS507 is now in its factory default configuration.
Warm Boot
Warm boot restores the RS507 operation by resetting its software but retains the RAM content. Warm boot is used
when a log file has to be retrieved from the RS507 during application debugging.
To perform warm boot, press and hold the Restore Key for more than six seconds.
