Connection to SQL Server problem (MC3190 or MC3090)

      • Current server is running SQL Server 2008 (10.0.2531.0) – server is location in our building without any port blocked.
      • New server is running SQL Server 2008 R2 (10.50.3720.0) – server is located outside the building and very much segregated (port 1433 used to communicate via TCP/IP only)

Here is a screenshot of the exception object and the connection object when trying to connect to our new database server.

In windows CE5 or CE6 (depending if MC3090 or MC3190), Microsoft SQL Client 2.0 is installed (package sql.wce5.armv4i.CAB get deployed when running the application from Visual Studio 2008). I’m not able to connect to that DB on both version of the gun… I’m only able to connect on our Windows applications (x32 and x64). And we don’t have any Windows Mobile… only WinCE.

Another thing to note is that we are using SQL Server 2008 (non R2) in production… I can’t believe R2 break everything?? What do you think? I'm currently installing another SQL Server 2008 R2 instance with all ports open to make more test... I'll keep you updated.

      Any ideas beside that?
