    RhoStudio URL for RhoHub

    Ron Wilson

      I would like to verify that in RhoStudio Preferences for the RhoHub API Endpoint, the correct url is https://app.rhohub.com/api/v1.  I was able to upload and build from RhoStudio previously but now getting 'No response from server' from RhoStudio and a 404 if hitting that url from a browser.  Maybe just a temporary site issue, but wanted to be sure I have the correct value.  I am able to log into RhoHub from a browser just using https://app.rhohub.com.

          You can't hit that url directly, it's just an API endpoint base url.  RhoStudio just uses the rhohub-api gem to interact with the site.  You can directly test if the gem is working for you or not from the command line:

          $ irb -rrubygems -rrhohub

          > Rhohub.token = 'your-token-here'

          > Rhohub.url = 'https://api.rhohub.com/api/v1/'

          > Rhohub::App.list

          If you see your list of apps, then the issue will be in how RhoStudio is using the gem or something in your environment that is different when RhoStudio launches.  Are you behind an HTTP proxy maybe?  If so, making sure you launch RhoStudio with the HTTP_PROXY environment variable should do the trick.

                Thanks for the reply Lars.  Didn't realize you couldn't hit the api from a browser, so good to know.

                I was suspect of the internet connection because I am at a hotel this week, but had been able to connect via RhoStudio earlier.  As a precaution I connected through my broadband card but still no luck.

                I also tried the commands you listed and they return an empty array, so not sure if that means there was a connection but it didn't like my token (maybe?) or if there was no response, like the message in RhoStudio indicates.  I would be more suspicious of my settings if I had not been able to build earlier yesterday.

                I'll will keep playing with it, but any other comments... or confirmation that others have been able to connect, upload, build from RhoStudio today... would be cool.

                    What's your account name and I'll check.  So you don't see the list of apps that you see when you go to https://app.rhohub.com/yourusername?

                        It looks like what had happened was that my token had changed (because of an unintentional password change on my part), so at this point I am able to see the applications in the command line execution.  So the issue seems to be something about RhoStudio. I have updated the token in RS and tried both https://app.rhohub.com/api/v1/ and https://api.rhohub.com/api/v1/ (both of which work from command line) but no luck.

                        I'm at something of a loss as to what the issue there is but I can probably just fall back to pushing up to RhoHub using GIT, like in previous RhoStudio versions.
