Hi Ameer llahi
Did you had to check the configuration settings at http://docs.rhomobile.com/rhoelements/ConfigurationSettings#Remarks and apply it?
Could you also provide screenshot of the issue?
Though I have tried it, the section called "Interaction between FunctionKeysCapturable and EnableFunctionKey configuration settings" gives some information on how to enable special keys.
Ameer, try changing the full_screen value to "1". This setting is located in the Rohconfig.txt file.full_screen = 1
you've to add a custom config.xml file to your project, as described in the documentation:
When you've your own config.xml in your native project, you can customize the keyboard interaction, even disabling all the captureKeys:
Regarding full screen mode, take a look at the wm_show_statusbar parameter.
i am already able to run the application in full screen mode and was able to resolve the quite/exit icon appearing on the screen; it turned out that i had a QuitButton meta tag in my layout.rb file; removing it removed the icon.
what i need is the ability to run the application in full screen mode while giving users the freedom to run other applications as they wish. handling the FunctionKey events then limits what the key would do in other applications, as documented on http://docs.rhomobile.com/rhoelements/ConfigurationSettings#Remarks
Because of the limitations of the operating system any settings applied will persist until the device is next warm booted.
Take a look on the EnableFunctionKey_F... tags in the configuration xml file, if you enable all of them they won't be disabled by RhoElements, which is the default behaviour.
after enabling the function key, apart from the windows button, all other buttons do their function when pressed. please note that this is only happening when in full screen mode and the windows button works as usual when in normal mode. Any idea how i can enable the windows button when running in full screen mode as well, so that when pressed from within the app the start menu shows up?
another thing that i have noticed is that when the app is minimized by pressing the "OK" button, and restored by selecting the application icon (say from the file explorer or the start menu) it takes quite a while before the app is restored (visible again) and a few more seconds for it to start responding to taps on the screen. is there anything else that need doing to avoid seeing this behavior?
