Today we have a java app in the collector rfid MC3190 (windows ce 6.5) of a company that has closed, need to redo this app and think of using Rhomobile. The App will collect and send via rfid rest to a url.

After some research, I will test the rhodes, installed rhostudio, my initial doubts.

1) I need to buy license to develop?
2) I need to buy VM Win Mobile 6.5 license to test?

When trying to simulate a project is giving the message
Exception: Could not build licensed features

T TAU TECHNOLOGIES

Hi Eduardo,

Tau Technologies will release Rho 5.5 in August. It's absolutely free. It doesn't require a paid developer subscription to build an application for Windows Mobile.
Regarding RFID extension we can write it for you.

Hi Eduardo,
RhoMobile v5.4 requires a paid developer subscription to build an application for Windows Mobile: Pricing - rhomobile.com

Depending on the kind of application you want to build, Enterprise Browser may be a better fit.
The main advantage of using the RhoMobile suite is having the capability to build application using web technologies (JavaScript+Ruby) working disconnected from the server having RhoConnect to synch the data "automagically". The problem with RhoMobile is that you dan't have an API directly in the product to talk to the RFID reader included in the MC3190-Z, you will need to write your own native extension to do that.

Enterprise Browser, on the other end, it's "just" an HTML5 browser with some additional API that gives you full control of the HW available on the device.
To control the RFID component of the MC3190-Z you can use the additional plugin: https://portal.motorolasolutions.com/Support/US-EN/Resolution?solutionI…

In the case of Enterprise Browser you can download and start to play with it on your device, and then buy as many device licenses you need when you need to go into production.

You can find more information about Enterprise Browser here, and download the latest version (1.4) here.

Grateful for Pietro return.

Using Rhomobile I would be creating an app via html5 / javascript / ruby in mc3190z and communicating reading via json / rest to PHP server.

This enterprise browser solution (I did not) it is a folder with html5 / javascript / ruby site ho device or installed on Apache?

I'm reading the documentation, but I need a quick understanding to pass the boss.
