Sideloading Google Chrome onto a TC75 in an 'enterprizey' manner

Hi guys,

I am working on a web application which is going to be run on the Zebra TC75.

For now, the native Android browser is good enough - however, we are looking to move to Google Chrome. We want to make full use of service workers and as far as I can tell, this isn't possible on the vanilla browser.

My question is:

Is there any way that we can sideload Chrome on to the TC75 and do this in an enterprizey manner - ie push Chrome out to a set of TC75's at once and easily handle updates?

Thanks for reading!

Tom

PS - I couldn't really find an answer to this on the forums - please tell me if my search-fu has been inadequate and if there's already instructions on how to do this!

if you want 'enterprizey' soluton for non-'enterprizey' browser I would recommend MDM (SOTI or similar) as you could control access to playstore (only official way to get app and updates) and also install app remotely (but I'm not sure about 'enterprizey' way of unattended remote installation of app directly from play store without setting google account on device)

Hi Tom,
Zebra provides a free utility called StageNow which is part of Mobility DNA suite of tools for Zebra Android devices.
With StageNow you can push and install any apk file onto a TC7x device thru Wi-Fi.
And yes you can run Chrome browser on the Enterprise OS version (without GMS) of TC7x.

Hi,

Google provides Chrome only via the Play Store. There is no legal way of installing Chrome on a Non-GMS Version of TC75. You need to use the GMS Version of TC75 which comes with Chrome and Google Play.
