    Community Guidelines

Read this if you want to get your questions answered.

The Zebra developer community is a great group of software developers, IT professionals and technology leaders who want to get the most out of Enterprise software.   This site is used every day to help people get their jobs done.  While Zebra is providing guidance, this community is also sharing knowledge and experience to help other developers.

      Forum Guidelines:

      1. Please use SEARCH first!

There is a pretty good chance that unless you have some really odd or unique problem that it has been addressed on our forum before, please use the forum’s search feature first to see if there are already some good threads on the subject. It’s easy to search – just enter your question in the search box at the top of the page.

      2. Tag your posts

We have changed the way we organize our forum.  Just like other major developer forums, posts now require tags in order to be filtered and the proper people to be notified of your post.  See the article here for information on how to follow tags.

      3. Be descriptive

the title of your post should have a short description of your problem, not things like "Help me,  Hello,  Very urgent, I have a question".  In your post, you should add things like the hardware models, OS and firmware versions and anything else that might help others solve your problem.  Sample code is also useful.

      4. Be respectful

Remember when people help you, they are doing YOU a favor.  The Zebra employees and community experts who answer questions on the portal are not doing it as part of their main job.  They are development engineers, sales support, and others who all respond and add content in their spare time.  Be patient.

      5. Language Support

The Developer Portal is primarily a English language website. We understand that Zebra is global as is our developer community.  While we recommend English to get the best chance of being answered, you may post discussions in your native language if it is easier for you to describe your question.  Tag your posts in English or they will not be seen.  Posts that are not in English may take longer to get responses. The same forum rules apply to all languages. Non-English tags will be removed.
