Is it possible to get the printers DPI value with Javascript or Java ?

Hello,

I am using a zt230 Printer for an android application and want to use the proper zpl.file for the different DPI values of the printers.

To my regret I couldn't find any command for javascript or java to get the DPI value of the connected printer.

Is it even possible to get the DPI value or do I have to tell the user that he has to set it by himselfe ?

Thank you in advance.

Hi Tobias You can get the DPI

Hi Tobias You can get the DPI by sending and reading the received data from the command:

{}{"head.resolution.in_dpi":null}

If you send this command to the printer and read the response, it tells you the DPI value for that printer.  To give you actual code, I need to know if you re using the Zebra SDK or not.

Hi Robin,

I am not using the Zebra SDK. I use Android Studio because I am developing an application. This App sends Intents for the print to the PrintConnect App like it's described in the Zebra PrintConnect User Guide. Thats why I thought that it might be possible to get the DPI by sending an Intent and reading the response.
