this was an option of RhoElements v1.0:
By default RhoElements will use the WebKit rendering engine. For backward compatibility this option can be set to 'InternetExplorer' to use the IE rendering engine present on the device. Note that the behaviour of the IE engine will differ between Windows Mobile and CE and in both cases will be less functional than the Motorola WebKit rendering engine. Because the InternetExplorer engine is provided solely for backward compatibility with PocketBrowser then modules exclusive to RhoElements, e.g. zoom, will not function with the IE engine.
<Engine> <EngineInUse value="InternetExplorer" /> </Engine>
But even if the option seems to still be in the RhoElements executable, I was not able to have it working, neither on WM or WCE. On top of this, the option is not documented for v2. or v4, so it does not seems a good idea to use it even if it was working.
Thanks Pietro. It was the same conclusion I reached. It looks like this feature has been removed in v4.0.
Try going into the build.yml and setting it to not use the motorola_browser and try using the native_browser. This should make you use IE instead of the Moto WebKit. Fyi - this is an unsupported way of running Rho on a WM/WCe device.
This worked for me with RhoElements v2.2, but I was not able to have it working with v4.0.
I think that having it working in v2.2 was a legacy of the older versions of Rhodes. v4.0 introduces so many changes that this is no more available.
