jQuery Mobile is the biggest performance bottleneck. If you have pages that take a great deal of time to render, it is almost certainly jQuery Mobile. Don't waste time looking for performance issues with Rhom, controller code, etc. (Only Rhom performance issue can be in bulk loading of data.)
Solutions include not using jQuery Mobile (you don't have to, many other solutions, including just plain old HTML pages with no JS framework...) don't use certain jQuery Mobile widgets that are performance hogs (example: listview).
