I have a Rho demo app that does most of the requirements except for creating the data file. It allows one to:
- Manually enter or scan an Item.
- Manually enter Quantity
- System generated Date & Time stamp
Its design to run on WinCE but haven't been tested on the MC2100.
Let me know if you're interested.
You could also use the attached MCL demo for the MC2100 which will run for 5 mins without any nag screens in unlicenced mode. To install, run the CAB file first and then start MCL. Exit MCL via the menu and then unzip the ZIP file contents to the folder \Application\MCL\Projects\Default. Start MCL again and the demo should run. Select Sample Apps/Inventory and you can scan codes , enter a quantity and review/edit the collected data which will be in the file aa.dat in the same project folder.

is there a need for a solution?. At least we do have a small application (from our company) written in C#, which handles this issue on that device available as demo.
I would suggest, that only the item and the quantity has to be scanned. The date / time will be taken from the device.
