If you use the choose_picture method of the Camera APi, you are able to open an image from the gallery. This doesn't give you a path to the image itself (I'm guessing for sandboxing reasons), but creates a copy of the image in the /public/db-files folder and gives you a path to that. The documentation makes no mention of whether Rhodes/RhoElements manages these files and deletes them when they are finished with, or whether the implementer needs to take care of this. In my scenario a user might import dozens of images every day, so some managment of the images in this folder will be necessary. Do I need to do the cleanup myself, or is there any handling for automatic cleanup of images created through choose picture?
I clean up myself. Move them to an archive folder using localtransfer. Hope that helps.
