I'm a new Android user and these are some of the issues have had moving to Android (and how I fixed them).

Work email won't sync - get stuck on the loading

go to Settings > data usage > then hit the menu button (looks like two boxes one in front of the other) on the display screen. then check Auto-sync data.  You might need to delete and recreate your exchange email but it should work after that (thanks David Singer and Frank Bernard)

Android needs apps!  Since we do not have the Google Play license yet - the easiest way to download apps is to use Amazon Marketplace.  Browse from your device to Amazon (you will need an account which you can setup ahead of time via computer).  Search for an app to download and try to download.  It will tell you that to download the app you need "Amazon appstore" app.  To get this you need to have the link emailed or texted from the form on the page.  When you receive the link - click it to download and then install.  Once you have the amazon appstore installed on your device you can download any app from Amazon, free or paid (will be charged to your amazon account).

Close apps:

iPhone you double click the home button and then exit each app, on Android press and hold the home button for 2 seconds. A list will show up of all currently running apps. Swipe to close the app.
