  • RFD8500 use cases outside the 4 walls?
    • Yes. UPS, T&L companies for ruggedness and durability. Not as rugged as other EMC products but more than iPhone.
    • Customers desire GPS tagging (location) along with the scan.  MC67 and TC55 provide that feature now.
    • RFD8500 opportunity in South Africa-> not good because of rain, TC8000 may be good for outdoor.
    • Ski resorts-> RFD8500 will not survive on ski hills, showed TC8000 concept (wlan, RFID)
  • RFD8500 and TC7x solution-> devices have different IP ratings; the 2-piece solution causes some issues.
  • Market acceptance?  Manufacturing-> large customers doing initial testing (Boeing, GM,…)
  • How do SMEs spread knowledge to other SEs>
    • If contacted about an opportunity, try to transfer the knowledge
  • New antenna technology, small company in Michigan. Why would customers go with this so small partner?
  • Big manufacturing GE (power, aviation, transportation) prefer fixed readers, don’t want hand held devices
  • Training for partners needed? yes
    • Need cost, location, time
    • May need a min number of people
    • It can be done by the learning organization or SEs themselves
    • Need to educate the partners
  • Is training on SDK Android RFD8500 available?, No, SDK not avail yet
    • Partners need training on other tool, until Android SDK is available Action
  • Do we need windows dev? Some (more Android than windows)
  • Benny – just signed large sweetish customer, pilot in Denmark
  • Chris S-> TC8000 RFID- should have been told to SEs
  • Jesse-> need more rugged RFD8500s, for outdoors
  • Peter-> partner training last week, will post on LP. Meeting with Zetes, wants more RFID training. Action
  • Roberto0-> need help with middleware
