123RFID Mobile from a Source-Code perspective is a comprehensive "Model-View-Controller" (MVC) type of app.
It has considerable depth in its activities - that initially are difficult to comprehend and understand.
The Zebra Xamarin Demo - is a little Simpler - to understand, but also lacks a lot of the features that 123RFID Mobile contains. Both have Barcode (RFD8500/ RFD40/90 - imager usages) and RFID.
The Android Studio RFID SDK - does have a Sample app, but it is so minimal, its is just simply a good guide for getting started.
Alas, there is no "middle ground" app or GitHub RFID app that you could consult for a "reduced scope" similar app.
The RFID Team is aware of this, but the decision was chosen - to stick with - supporting the 123RFID Mobile app, since it is powerful and comprehensive, but also not for the faint-of-heart.
