I'd like to be able to exit enterprise home screen so that I can access the settings if needed.
Is this possible ?

You can exit from the Admin mode if you run Settings (assuming it is first enabled from Preferences) from the programs list, search for home and select 'default home app' from the search results - this will allow you to switch to Quickstep as the launcher which immediately exits from the EHS lockdown.
