Hey, in the new year I'll be getting around to shipping LS2208 handheld scanners that still have a warranty for service.
I own a fair number of them, and hence my question - is it possible to create a script (e.g. in Python) that when I connect the scanner to the PC (via USB), it will retrieve the serial number and check if the scanner is still under warranty.
I've tried a couple of options but haven't found a concrete answer.
Is there any other way to check the warranty than going to the zebra website and entering the serial number?
Same with downloading the serial number. In Scanner SDK, when I change the scanner interface to USBIBMHID, the serial number is displayed.
Is it possible to skip using Scanner SDK and use a script that will download my scanner serial number and type it into a text file?
Thanks for any advice and help that will direct me to achieve my goal. Have a peaceful and Merry Christmas!

there is no cloud db and api to query warranty . warranty for LS2208 is 5 years from shipment date . you could use manufacturing date to approx check the status
