Hi team, I have a customer that has reached out to me asking if we as trusted advisors can provide them some guidance running video clips on the MC55A0 or MC65. I do not have any customers doing this and am wondering if you would be able to help me find answers to these questions?

-          They are looking to load the video on the MC55A0 or MC65 (microSD card) to be viewed at a later time, and have asked us what the best video format recommended regarding resolution, aspect ratio, the 3.5 in screen, etc…

What best video format … OGM, OGM, AVI, WMV, MP3, MP4, other?
What is best video player for WM6.5.3?
What resolution is best for 3.5 in screen viewing?
Anything else we as the trusted advisors can help them with on this subject?

Thanks for your help with this. Paul Bodjanac

Paul,  You can use the standard Windows Media Player if you convert the videos to WMV format. The format can be VGA (640 x 480) since that is the resolution of the display on these MC's but you may need to experiment with the Codec to get the optimal one for smooth playback . If converting from a DVD you can use a tool such as DVD Catalyst ( http://www.tools4movies.com/) which works pretty well in my experience. Best Regards, Ian Hatton MSI EMEA

You may wish to try  TCPMP out. It supports several standard codecs.
