Hello, When creating a Relay Server there is a "Control Info" section allowing you to select an appropriate "Collection Service" from a drop-down list. The drop-down list implies that there should be multiple options, however I can see no way of adding new "Collection Services". I'm interested in adjusting the frequency that MSP checks in with relay servers and having multiple profiles would be good. Has anyone done this previously? Regards Gazza

MSP has the theoretical capability to run multiple instances of the Collection Service, each on its own Server.  But this would require a separate installer to allow the Collection Service to be installed, and no such installer has been provided.  So, while we retain the ability to offer this capability at some time in the future, it is not a supported feature of any version of MSP today.  As it stands, we have never seen that the actual process of collecting metric data from Relay Servers and placing it into the MSP Database has been one of the key limiting factors of MSP scalability, hence it has never been a priority to enable parallel Collection Services.

Two great answers  Sandhya and Allan, I was just confused about the drop-down list. Thanks very much

Hi, To answer your question about adjusting the frequency that MSP checks in with relay servers, you can try following approaches: Approach 1: This approach can be used to set the frequency to maximum of 100minutes. From MSP admin tool you can change the control collection service wake up interval value according to your requirement ( you can maximum set to hundred minutes ). Path : Open the MSP admin tool ,  Tools -> Configuration -> MSP Services-> Control Collection service-> Wake up Interval ( In order to change the value you need to stop the services ). Approach 2: While this approach can be used to wake up the control collection service during a specific time in a day. You can set the values while creating the relayserver. Here are the steps to do       a. Navigate to Admin -> Relayservers in the MSP web console.       b. In the second page of creating a Relayserver, we can enter the values for control start time    and control end time according to your requirements. Suppose if we enter the control start and end time values as 09:00 and 10:00 while creating the Relayserver and in the msp admin tool if the control collection service -> wake up interval is set to 5mins, then Control collection service will be waking up for every 5min between 09:00 to 10:00 Hope this helps you Regards, Sandhya
