Hi all, I'm try to implement the generic CE client on a CE5 Kyman Datalogic. 1 - Installing the Client: Installation was successful, MSP and MSP Agent Rapid Deployment Client folder created under the windows 2 - Start of 'RDClient: scanner off, impossible to read the barcode 3 - Activating the scanner via DataWedge (pre-installed on datalogic) 4 - Start of 'RDClient: the scanner is active. 5 - I try to read a barcode (created with MSP): I have the "beep" occurred reading the barcode RDClient but does not recognize it. Any suggestion will be appreciates. Alberto

This is not at all surprising. If you look at the MSP Release Notes, it categorizes the functionality provided by MSP into Core (which is supported by the Generic Client) and Premium (which is generally supported only on OUR devices). Barcode Scanning during RD is a Premium feature since it relies on the nature of the barcode scanning system available. On select devices that cannot meet Premium (mostly non-platform devices WE offer), we sometimes offer what is called Core Plus, which means Core plus SOME, but not ALL, Premium features. Barcode Staging is often included in Core Plus and is contingent on us being able to adapt the barcode scanning system reasonably. It has been our experience that a wedge generally is not a very reliable way to work with RD. To get a wedge to work with RD, the wedge has to be configured to send a CR after the data AND must be able to handle binary data properly. It has been our experience that few third-party wedges can do both.
