hope someone can help I have setup MSP4 on Win2003-Server with SQL2008; have setup DM, have created and loaded and implemented all required certificates, objects and security-roles. I can successfully stage the iPhone/iPod initially - but I do not get them showed in devicestatus. The MSP-Apple-Notifier-Service log shows error like the below - any hints or ideas are very much appreciated. Should do a potential customer presentation early next week - with potentially several thousand devices ... 2012-03-06 14:23:47  - ERROR - On Thread:  8  -  - -------------------------------  -  - Exception Details  -  - -------------------------------  -  - System.ArgumentException: [AppleNotifierCore, HandleWorkItem]: Failed - Can not create a valid Connection:  -  -    at Motorola.MSP.iPhone.AppleNotifierService.AppleNotifierCore.HandleWorkItem(Object workItem, DateTime requestEnqueueTime)  -  - Message: [AppleNotifierCore, HandleWorkItem]: Failed - Can not create a valid Connection:  -  - Source: Motorola.MSP.iPhone.AppleNotifierService  -  - Stack Trace:    at Motorola.MSP.iPhone.AppleNotifierService.AppleNotifierCore.HandleWorkItem(Object workItem, DateTime requestEnqueueTime) 2012-03-06 14:23:47  - DEBUG - devID: 000abef9fb974e7080feb49b87af6a06ba3cf9a0b85b Changed Poke Flage to False 2012-03-06 14:23:47  - ERROR - -------------------------------  -  - Exception Details  -  - -------------------------------  -  - System.ArgumentException: [AppleConnectionPool, GetConnections]: Failed - Connecting to Apple Notification Service.  On Thread:  8  -  -    at Motorola.MSP.Utilities.AppleConnectionPool.GetConnections(String appleHostName, Int32 applePort, AppleNotificationTypeKeys pokeType, X509Certificate inputCert, Int32 readTimeout, Int32 sendTimeout)  -  - Message: [AppleConnectionPool, GetConnections]: Failed - Connecting to Apple Notification Service.  On Thread:  8  -  - Source: Motorola.MSP  -  - Stack Trace:    at Motorola.MSP.Utilities.AppleConnectionPool.GetConnections(String appleHostName, Int32 applePort, AppleNotificationTypeKeys pokeType, X509Certificate inputCert, Int32 readTimeout, Int32 sendTimeout) 2012-03-06 14:23:47  - ERROR - [AppleNotificationConnection, Connect]: Error Connecting TCPClient & stream.  On Current Thread:  8  -  - -------------------------------  -  - Exception Details  -  - -------------------------------  -  - System.Exception: [AppleNotificationConnection, ConnectClientAndStream]: Failed.  On Thread:  8 ---> System.Exception: [AppleNotificationConnection, ConnectClientAndStream]: Intialize Stream Failed  -  -    at Motorola.MSP.Utilities.AppleNotificationConnection.ConnectClientAndStream()  -  -    --- End of inner exception stack trace ---  -  -    at Motorola.MSP.Utilities.AppleNotificationConnection.ConnectClientAndStream()  -  -    at Motorola.MSP.Utilities.AppleNotificationConnection.FullReconnect()  -  -    at Motorola.MSP.Utilities.AppleNotificationConnection.Connect()  -  - Message: [AppleNotificationConnection, ConnectClientAndStream]: Failed.  On Thread:  8  -  - Source: Motorola.MSP  -  - Stack Trace:    at Motorola.MSP.Utilities.AppleNotificationConnection.ConnectClientAndStream()  -  -    at Motorola.MSP.Utilities.AppleNotificationConnection.FullReconnect()  -  -    at Motorola.MSP.Utilities.AppleNotificationConnection.Connect()  -  - -------------------------------  -  - Inner Exception  -  - -------------------------------

If this issue is related to certs (not getting provisioned to your Apple devices? keeping them from cheking in?) you might be up agains a problem... "Enrolling for certificates against the old Windows Sever 2003 SCEP Add-On ulitiy does not work with Apple devices so Windows Server 2008 or later is required." this is from a Microsoft expert souce - see http://blogs.technet.com/b/askds/archive/2010/11/22/ipad-iphone-certifi… this may not be the reason for the error messages you report, but it may mean you will not entirely succeed if your SCEP or NDES service is running on your 2003 box.
