I am a complete novice when it comes to barcode scanners. We have a handheld scanner and I am trying to convert it from our original use (a program that we will not be purchasing) to using it to just add words into an excel document. The Pathologists would like to add tissue types into one Excel cell. There could be up to 20 items in one cell. How can I program the scanner to stay in the cell while items are being scanned, then when they are done, they can hit enter to get to the next cell. I need help with the coding.

Would this be removing the CR programming from the scanner?
What's the barcode scanner model ? Could you paste image of some of mentioned items barcodes .
will be good if you could provide more details about the workflow as there might be some features that would provide better user experience based on that .
