Howdy Folks,

I'm working with an RFD40 Premium Plus device that has both an RFID scanner and a barcode scanner built into it.  I'm working in .Net framework 4.8 on Windows 11.

I've managed to get it connected over Bluetooth to a virtual com port (one out of 2 that are typically exposed) using 32feet.net and I can get RFID events.  The problem I have now is that the RFID SDK has no capabilities to read barcodes... at least from what i can tell.  What am I missing?

Point of clarification - the RFID SDK I'm talking about is the Zebra RFID SDK - namespace:  Symbol.RFID.SDK.

Hi Gordon.

The Big Windows RFID SDK - only contains the RFID components.

Unlike the Mobile Platform RFID SDK's (Android and iOS) the ScannerFramework is not included in the RFID SDK for Windows.
Rather the Scanner Framework for Windows - can connect to the other SSI connection.
I fthe uppper and lower Triggers are correctly configured - this can allow either RFID Tag transactions (Inventory/Read/Write/Etc.) as well as Barcode Scanning from the Imager on the RFD40 Premium+ Sled.

Sean,

Thank you for the prompt reply;  just to confirm what you're saying.  Assuming that I want programmatic control over both the barcode scanning and RFID read capabilities I can use both the RFID SDK and the Scanner Framework for Windows as long as the RFID SDK connects to the RFID com port, and the Scanner Framework connects to the SSI com port (the scanner exposes two com ports over Bluetooth)?

That is Correct Gordon.   ( Happy 2024 )
