Is there any update on if/when a .NET MAUI compatible EMDK SDK will be released?
Is there any other way to integrate a .NET MAUI app with the Zebra TC70 (Android) built-in scanners?

Thank you in advanced.

Sorry for the delayed response. The Xamarin team is NOT currently working on .NET MAUI support, but Zebra DOES respond to new feature requests. The process requires Zebra customers to contact their account representative and put in a formal request, which generally includes a description of the business case. The team evaluates the feature and prioritizes the work against their current workload to decide if and when to develop it.

I hope you find this information helpful.

I think Zebra has the opportunity to not wait consumers asking, this is so responsive, Zebra is the market leader, so I think that you must be knowing what market are lunching and release support for developers, There are so many new technologies like Flutter, React Native, .NET Maui, I think the effort of Zebra is minimal and the customer gain is big with having options to choose what framework to use to create applications that use Enterprise Mobile Computers from Zebra. I Expect this king of proactivity from zebra

D Dieter Schüle

I agree, if Zebra wants their enterprise devices be used in enterprise projects, they should migrate their Xamarin EMDK to .NET Maui immediately and not waiting for the devs writing description of business cases.

Same here. As we want to start new project and the MAUI should be enhancement for the Xamarin. What I have translated from microsft is: Start new project in MAUI, the Xamarin will be obsolete in near future (but maybe I am wrong).
So now I should start develop something for mobile terminals. As I am not familiar with any of technology, I must learn Xamarin and then learn and rewrite that to MAUI. I know that both has lot of common procedures, but it is waste of time.
So I would prefere to see the release date of SDK to know if I should wait weeks or months to have the MAUI SDK.

Thanks to all for communicating your need for .NET MAUI support. I will forward this thread to Zebra's Director of Software Engineering to reiterate this need among the Zebra customer community.

However, Zebra has a process for officially requesting new features for its products, and one or more of you MUST use the process to submit this request. Your Zebra account rep can tell you more about how to get started.

I urge you to please submit the request without delay; these things take time.

We appreciate your patience, and we thank you for choosing Zebra.

Best regards,

UPDATE: A feature request has been submitted to the Zebra engineering dept. to add support for .NET MAUI. The team will evaluate the work required and advise on a course of action. PLEASE NOTE: This is not a promise to deliver; it's a step toward a decision of whether to do so.

Thank you for choosing Zebra products.

Best regards,

Thanks Eddie, for us it is so important that Zebra give us this support, we need the best updated tools available

Same topic here. Urgently need a release of a .NET MAUI compatible EMDK SDK (for TC 72).
Any news or roadmap on this?

Hi d.schuele@buero-s.de,
I was wondering if you ever came up with a solution. I am getting ready to start working on a scanning app and I'm running into the same problems. From what I am reading, we should be using Datawedge but I haven't been able to successfully make it work. Any help you could provide would be grateful.

Thanks,
Josh

I did research on this and DataWedge can only pass over EPC values. You don't get any information like RSSI which is critical for my application.  It is not sufficient for me.

D Dieter Schüle

Hi josh,
no idea yet how to accomplish this with out a SDK for .NET MAUI. Datawedge is no option for my application.
Hope Zebra does their job and provide a SDK soon

Dear Zebra Team,
we are currently developing with Maui/Zebra Handheld and we urgently need access to the scanner via the API. When can we expect a release from you?

P Paris Kouris

Hello,

same here. We want to choose Zebra Scanners for our new project, but from what I am reading here, we have many doubts. Do you have a roadmap?

Thank you

J James Swinton-Bland

Hi all,

Please refer to our latest blog on this topic: https://developer.zebra.com/blog/developing-net-maui-zebra-androidtm-de…

Essentially, we have a process in place to work-around the restriction with our current SDK while we work on officially supporting this feature.

Thanks,

James

Any update on this? Need EMDK and RFID SDK for Maui. The workaround doesn't work for the RFID SDK because it expects Mono.Android. Even a rough ETA of 2nd quarter of 2023 would be helpful.

D Daniele Lucca

We've been able to implement an RFID/Barcode sample application in .NET MAUI using Zebra EMDK and we're also working on the porting for Blazor as well.
You can have a look at the source code on GitHub.
Any feedback is more than welcome.
