React Native use MC33 keyboard

Hello,
I develop an react-native android application for different Zebra Scanners and normal smartphones.
On the MC33 I have problems using the hardware keyboard of the Scanner.
Normally when I press a button multiple times the available letters from this button switch until the right one is picked.
In react-native however it always just picks the first letter.
Also I don't see a way to use the "enter" or other buttons.
Is there a way to use the typing correctly in an app without building it completely new?
Kind regards

Could you not use the standard software keyboard?  The same as your application must work on normal smartphones.  For anything other than numerical or occasional alphanumeric the hardware keyboard you describe does not seem suited anyway.
I'm not sure why the hardware keyboard would behave differently with React Native controls, I have not heard of that before I'm afraid (not since we moved to Android, anyway).
