Datawedge With DPX plug-in

Hi,

I deployed Datawedge MyTestApp Demo app (MyTestApp-postal.zip) int MC67 terminal.

I created a datawedge profile for this app and the following happens:

- if Barcode Input is enabled, when I launch the App and press the trigger button, 2d Imager turns on (this tells me that the profile is correctly associated with this app).

- if I change the profile for Camera Scanner, when I press the trigger button, the rear camera is turned on and i can decode a barcode

- if I change the profile to disable barcode input and enable dpx input, I expected the camera to turn on (as in DPXDemo App) when I press the trigger button... but nothing happens.

What can I be doing wrong?

Thank you.

THARINDU WELIGO...
On what DPX version you are

  1. On what DPX version you are testing this. What is the OS build number.
  2. Does this mean that the DPX is not working only when you associate the application with a profile? What happen if you enable the DPX in Profile0 and press trigger on the same application. Make sure to remove the profile created by you.
  3. What is the DataWedge version. (Open DataWedge click on Menu button and select About)
  4. Can you export the profile and provide it.

Above information will help to find what could go wrong with it.

Hi,1 - DPX engine version 1.1

Hi,

1 - DPX engine version 1.1.1. OS Build Number 01-4AJ11-J-1100-0001-00-M1-040414

2 - I erased my profile, I configured Profile0 with DPX enabled and nothing happened.

3 - DataWedge version 2.0.2 - Beta

4 - Find attached

I also attached this same answer but with a few screen caps in a zipped MSWord Docx

Hi Jose,DataWedge is not yet

Hi Jose,

DataWedge is not yet compatible with SimulScan V1.1.1. The DataWedge team is working to support newer version of SimulScan. In the meanwhile, if you would like to test SimulScan immediately, you can reflash V28.0.1 version, as this version still works with DataWedge.

I reflashed v28.0.1 as you

I reflashed v28.0.1 as you said. Now i successfully created a datawedge profile with DPX enabled and an intent action and category correctly configured so that MyTestApp app is invoked after a 'DPX scan'.

My problem now is that when handleIntent method is called and we try to get SourceTag string from intent extras,

...

String source = intent.getStringExtra(SOURCE_TAG);

...

this resource doesn't exist. 'source' equals null after the above line of code.

In fact it appears that the intent has no extras at all.

is this functionality already implemented?

Are you using an Engineering

Are you using an Engineering build or a Release build.
You can install this apk only in a Engineering build. If you are using a Release build it should be done through and recovery update package.

Let me know whether it is an Engineering or Release build .

Tharindu,I don't know how to

Tharindu,

I don't know how to check the nature of this build, but based on what you say I suspect that I have a release build. Thus, must I build an update package? How can I do that?

Hi Jose,Attached is an update

Hi Jose,

Attached is an update package with a version of DataWedge that should work with your build, provided by Tharindu. To use this package, do the following:

1. Copy the zip update package to the SD Card or internal storage

2. Reboot the device to recovery mode (hold PTT button when device starts up)

3. Follow prompts on screen to install update, pointing to this zip update package

4. Reboot device.

Let me know if this resolves the issues you are facing with DataWedge.
