1.  2/25/2009 1:57 pm 2.  3 dAY 3.  MC75 4.  WM 6.0 BSP 21 5.  1829490 I am having an issue where the customer wants to remap keys on the MC75 Querty Keypad, specifically Right Soft Key ->Escape and Asterick -> F5.  The key mappings for Escape are being passed through an RDP I have setup here to a simple app that captures the key, but the F5 and any function key I map are not. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I checked the MC70, same key mappings.  Locally, Escape and F5 work fine.  Going through Terminal Services Client on the MC70, same issue.  Escape is recognized by my sample app, F5 is not. Is it just that Function keys cannot be passed through RDP Mobile?

Ken, not sure if it's related, but have your tried to modify tscscan.txt file? You can refer to following KB article: http://support.symbol.com/support/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=k…

That works for WM 5.0 with Terminal Services, but on WM 6.1 with Remote Desktop Mobile is does not work. This actually went to SPR 16781 where it was raised to Microsoft, who advised at this time that it is a bug but they will not fix it.

Hiro, Star Key is mapped straight to F5 in QWS.sct.  It works locally but is not being passed through Remote Desktop Mobile. I am basing this testing on my own simple application, which I can control. F5 does not work, I can reproduce this.  What are the options if this is a Remote Desktop Mobile?

F5 is not hotkey in WM6.0. Does the same key work on WM5.0 RDP ? If yes, then it is WM6.0 RDP issue.

Right Soft Key is the key between down arrow and red phone key.  Asterick key is the star key. As I said, local key mappings work fine.  Keycheck verifies this.  The function keys are not making it through Remote Desktop Mobile to the app I set up.

Function key is never sent out of keyboard driver. Only remapped key goes out of driver. If you remapped them, only Escape and F5 goes to RDP. If they don't go through, then RDP is the problem.

Check F5 key if Windows uses it as a hotkey for their app.

They want to remap right softkey -> Escape, and Asterick -> F5 on QWERTY MC75 ? What is right soft key ? What is asterick key, a star key ?
