1) 11am/ 09/03/27 2) 3 days 3) VC5090 Full Screen 4) CE5.0 BSP35 5) Clarify Case #1849955 We have received following question from our partner: ********************************* We are connecting from VC5090 via Remote Desktop to UNIX application and when we use arrow keys on VC5090 external keyboard, it is generating 8 and 2 keys instead of Up and Down. We have tried the keytrap tool but it didn’t help. After we remaped the arrow keys it still displays a 8 on the up arrow and a 2 on the down arrow. Everything is working fine on win CE 5.0 and on win2003 when we make a remote desktop connection. But when we enter unix the arrow keys stop functioning. Instead of scrolling up and down a 8 or a 2 is displayed on the screen. On Unix there is a setting enabled that will convert the numlock keys so that even if a user has turned there numlock pad off. It still displays a 8 for up or a 2 for down instead of the num lock up arrow or the numlock down arrow. This setting is there so users don’t accidently scroll up or down when they have there numlock key turned off. On normal pc keyboards everything works fine. We have tried the following settings that you mailed to us. "TxMethod"=dword:1 "TrapKey1"=dword:26 "TrapKey2"=dword:28 "RemapToKey1"=dword:68 "RemapToKey2"=dword:62 "TxMethod"=dword:1 "TrapKey1"=dword:68 "TrapKey2"=dword:62 "RemapToKey1"=dword:26 "RemapToKey2"=dword:28 In both cases it didn’t work. ********************************* Is there anything else we can suggest them to test or try? Thanks! Petr
VC5090 Full Screen - Arrow keys not working when using Remote Desktop Connection and Unix app |

When you say it works fine with normal PC keyboard, does the remote station use a Unix keyboard then it does not work ? Or if you use Unix keyboard with VC5090 then you have an issue ?
Hello Hiro, thanks for your reply. The customer is not using any Unix keyboard. When they use standard PC USB keyboard, it works fine for them. But when they use arrow keys on VC5090 keyboard (see attached image) connected via Remote Desktop to Unix environment, instead of scrolling up or down they can see letters 8 or 2 displayed.
