Have a customer reporting following:
Installed VQM 2.5 on MC70 and using their own VOIP application or a thirdparty
http://www.kapanga.net/IP/home.cfm,
What they see that AEC is not working consitently in VOIP calls and echo can be heard.
Specifically about our setup: we are using the Sipek C# API (http://voipengine.googlepages.com/), which is a C#/.NET wrapper for the much-used and extensively tested pjsip SIP stack (http://www.pjsip.org/). This software handles all the audio stuff for us: we don't do anything with audio echo cancellation or anything like that, neither does any of the software we require. After installing VQM the phones worked fine for a while, but then one by one the phones went back to causing audio echo feedback loops. Clean booting them doesn't change anything. When I press the VQM icon in the top bar, is see that AEC is off. We didn't switch it off from the software, and as you know you can't set or unset AEC from anywhere in the settings manually.
From VQM UG :
The Audio Echo Cancellation(AEC) mode assumes importance only during voice transmission. Also the device consumes more power in AEC Mode.So , the device enters the w/AEC modes only during an Active Voice Call.Prior to the call, if the device was in Speaker mode it transitions to the Speaker w/AEC mode and if the device was in Handset mode it transitions to the Handset w/AEC mode. For the duration of the call consecutive taps shall toggle the device between Handset w/AEC mode and Speaker w/AEC mode. The user has no control over turning on and turning off of Echo Cancellation during an active voice calls.
From EPIC 20631 we see something similar reported with Avaya and not resolved.
What is status of VQM 2.5 and can we issue a SPR ?

The main difference between the MC75 and MC70 is the MC75 does its AEC via software, MC70 does its AEC through hardware.

you can check that in the VQM icons.
IS there a way to force AEC to be enabled in VQM that seems to be the problem here.
or is a SPR for VQM appropriate.

based on EMDK 2.0 for C
But i still agree with partner that VQM should be doing its job properly.
George,
Can you confirm that VQM is still maintained for MC70
after version 2.5 ?

Shall i tell customer that this is not a supported software solution anymore then ?
Any clues for point of contacts will be enough.
In the past Rich Nedwich helped on similar queries.
( this will be my last post about this subject )
