I have a customer that would like to have two certificates assigned to one Fusion profile. They are asking because the one certificate is expiring and would like to add the new one to the same profile so they don’t have to create a second profile to implement the new certificate. Does anyone know if this is possible or is there another solution to update certificates that they should consider?

Could they just change the certificate used to the newer certificate instead of having two?
Normal best practice would be to issue the new Certificate before the old one expires and issue it with a validity date range that overlaps the original Certificate. Then the old one can be replaced with the new one without loss of connectivity and without the need to reconfigure the Fusion Profile.
They have created a new Intermediate cert and got it installed. The problem is that you can only have one cert per fusion profile. Thus they must create a new profile for the new cert. Creating a second profile throughout their organization is a huge task, plus you then have to remove the old profile.
This is our understanding of what needs to be done to implement a new cert. If anyone knows of another way to implement a new cert, please let me know.
