when customer cold boot the device (power + 1 + 9 keys), the system date did not reset back to the factory default. Is this the correct behavior?

The behavior is same on MC55xx & 75xx devices as well and I think it is expected behavior. A CLEAN boot would reset the system date to the factory default.

I have tested this scenario on a device here and the time & date did not change after cold boot.
